Qualifications:
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a CDL driver, preferably in a delivery role involving physical loading and unloading.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles.
• Ability to use an Electronic Drivers Log system, preferably the Motive Brand
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy items, sometimes exceeding 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Requirements:
1. Transportation and Delivery:
o Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods from our distribution center to store locations within the designated area.
o Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to assigned routes and schedules.
2. Loading and Unloading:
o Actively participate in unloading goods at store locations, using appropriate equipment and techniques to maintain product safety.
o Assist in loading the truck at the local branches to ensure that goods are secured properly and the vehicle is balanced.
o Accurately scan all inter-company transfers using internal company tracking system.
3. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections:
o Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and compliant with DOT standards.
o Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the fleet manager.
4. Documentation:
o Accurately maintain logs of driving times, deliveries, vehicle service, and repair status in compliance with state and federal regulations.
o Ensure that all shipping documents, like bills of lading and delivery notes, are completed accurately and returned to the dispatch office.
5. Customer Service:
o Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
o Address and resolve customer concerns at the point of delivery, or escalate to management as necessary.
6. Safety Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while driving and delivering.
o Use proper lifting techniques and operate equipment safely during the loading and unloading processes.
7. Communication:
o Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team to update on delivery progress and any issues encountered on the road.
o Coordinate with store managers and receiving staff to ensure smooth unloading and appropriate documentation transfer.
